I selected the United States flag to illustrate the theme of "transformation".
Although it is still the most powerful symbol of freedom and revered by nearly all Americans, it has been viewed in a different light around the world since the events of 9/11.
I took this photo of a flag on a nearby office door. It was somewhat raggedy looking where it hang, but in the photo it came out looking very picturesque.
That is somewhat how it is in real life. Battered, but still beautiful.
